Why we know this works!

We love this tub transfer bench because as occupational therapy practitioners (OTPs) we consider stepping over the tub wall one of the most dangerous moves in the whole house, and this simple bench removes it completely. Do you need a transfer bench or is a shower chair enough? If the only way into the water is over a bathtub wall, you need the bench: two legs sit outside the tub and two inside, so you sit down first, bring your legs over the edge, and scoot in without ever standing on one foot over a wet ledge. It adjusts in height, supports up to 400 pounds, and allows transfers straight from a wheelchair. It is especially important for people with limited endurance, poor balance, or a fall history, including stroke and joint replacement recovery. If your tub is a deep garden or jetted style, choose the Extra Tall Tub Transfer Bench instead, and if scooting sideways is too difficult, the Sliding Tub Transfer Bench w/ Seatbelt does the moving for you.

Not sure what you need?

An occupational therapist can assess your situation and recommend exactly what will help. Tell us what you're dealing with and we'll connect you with the right OT.
