Why we know this works!

We love this trapeze because as occupational therapy practitioners (OTPs) we see how much independence comes back when strong arms are allowed to do the work weak legs cannot. What is a bed trapeze actually for? It gives you a secure overhead handle to grasp and pull, so you can shift your weight, roll, sit up, and move toward the edge of the bed without a caregiver lifting you. Regular repositioning also relieves pressure, which helps prevent bed sores. The heavy gauge steel frame installs without tools and adjusts in height, length, and horizontal position. It is especially valuable for people with multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury, or leg amputation whose grip and upper body are stronger than their legs. Check your bed first: this model mounts to metal frame headboards, so if yours has no compatible headboard, use the Trapeze Freestanding instead, and if grip strength is the weak link, a bed rail is the better tool.
