Why we know this works!
Why we know this works!
We love this talking button clock because as occupational therapy practitioners (OTPs) we see people with low vision hold a clock an inch from their face, or simply wait for someone else to tell them the time. How can someone who cannot read a clock face check the time on their own? By pressing one large, easy-to-find button: the clock speaks the current time out loud, no squinting and no tiny controls. It runs on two AAA batteries (not included) and is light enough to move from nightstand to kitchen to travel bag.
It is especially helpful for people with macular degeneration, glaucoma, or diabetic retinopathy, and for anyone whose arthritis or tremor makes small buttons frustrating. If the real problem is a loved one with dementia losing track of day and night, our Day Clock is the better tool.
