Using a stand assist patient transport lift is a great way to help a person transfer who is able to get into a standing position but does not have the ability to take any steps. The stand assist patient transport lift is made to be used with one helper to safely transfer to any room in the home such as from bed to the bathroom, living room, or kitchen. If wanting to transfer a loved one from the recliner to the kitchen table for a meal, simply position the transport lift in front of the recliner with the seat pads flipped out of the way, make sure that the persons feet are on the footplate and knees are against the knee pad, lock the brakes so the lift does not move while the person is standing, have the person reach for the horizontal bar to pull up to stand. Once the person is standing then flip the seat pads down and the person can sit while being rolled to the desired destination where they can hold onto the horizontal bar to stand again while the seat pads are flipped out of the way and they can sit in the kitchen chair. The transport lift is great for fall prevention, encourages activity with sit to stand transfers, and decreases caregiver lifting injuries while promoting a loved ones mobility.
