Why we know this works!
Why we know this works!
We love this raised toilet seat with handles because, as OTPs, we know that a low toilet seat height forces extra hip and knee flexion during sit-to-stand transfers — and that added range of motion is exactly where clients with arthritis, joint replacements, or general weakness lose control and risk a fall. In everyday practice, we see clients avoid using the bathroom independently simply because standing back up feels harder than sitting down. This seat raises the surface height to reduce the flexion needed at the hips and knees, while the attached handles give clients a stable push point directly in front of them, rather than relying on unstable surfaces like a sink or towel bar. It's a simple, supportive tool that reduces joint strain, lowers fall risk, and restores confidence in one of the most repeated transfers of the day.
