Why we know this works!

We love this wide roll-in shower chair because as occupational therapy practitioners (OTPs) we too often see larger-bodied clients balanced on equipment that was never sized or rated for them, which is how falls and skin injuries happen. Do bariatric shower chairs fit through a normal bathroom door? That is the exact problem this chair solves: it supports up to 440 pounds yet comes in 22 inch and 26 inch seat widths, so you can pick the sturdiest chair that still clears your narrowest doorway. It also rolls over most toilets and includes a commode bucket, so bathing and toileting are covered by one device. It is especially important for larger adults recovering from stroke or surgery, or living with conditions like lymphedema or heart failure that limit standing tolerance. It requires a curbless roll-in shower and is caregiver-assisted only; before ordering, measure your narrowest doorway against the chair width over the casters, which is 23 inches on the 22 inch model.
