A dual motor power lift recliner designed to help older adults sit down, stand up, and truly rest. Unlike traditional recliners that stop around 160 degrees, this chair reclines all the way flat: the backrest adjusts from 90 to 180 degrees and the footrest rises to meet it, forming a comfortable bed in seconds. Two independent motors control the backrest and footrest separately, so you can find your perfect position for reading, watching TV, or sleeping.

Built-in heat and 8-point massage soothe the back, lumbar area, thighs, and legs with 5 massage modes. The gentle lift assist reduces strain on knees and back when standing, while widened padded armrests give solid support during transfers. A lumbar pillow, two large storage pockets, and USB and Type-C charging ports round out the comforts. The easy-clean, stain-resistant leather keeps maintenance simple. Weight capacity of 350 lbs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How does the Lay Flat Power Lift Chair Recliner by Latitude Run work?

Two independent motors control the backrest and footrest separately. At the touch of a button the chair gently tilts forward to help you stand up with minimal effort, reclines to any position you like, and lays completely flat for sleeping.

Q: Does this recliner really lay flat?

Yes. The backrest adjusts from 90 to 180 degrees and the footrest rises from 90 to 180 degrees, forming a flat, bed-like surface. Fully reclined, the chair extends to about 72.5 inches deep, so it works well for naps or overnight rest.

Q: What is the weight capacity of this lift chair?

This lift chair has a weight capacity of 350 lbs and sits on an upgraded iron frame that has been load-tested for durability.

Q: What massage and heat features are included?

The chair has 8 vibration nodes covering the shoulders, lumbar area, thighs, and calves, with 5 massage modes: pulse, compression, wave, automatic, and normal. It also includes lumbar heating, all controlled from the included remote with timing control.

Q: Who should use a power lift recliner?

Power lift recliners are ideal for seniors, individuals with mobility challenges, those recovering from surgery, or anyone experiencing knee or back pain. The lift assist reduces strain when sitting down or standing up, promoting independence and safety at home.

Q: Does this lift chair require assembly?

Yes, light assembly is required when the chair arrives. The backrest connects to the base, and one person can typically complete setup. Instructions are included.

Q: How much space do I need for this recliner?

Plan for clearance behind and in front of the chair for the full lay-flat recline and the forward lift function. Fully reclined the chair extends to about 72.5 inches deep, and the chair fits through doorways at least 36 inches wide.

Q: What are the benefits of a lift chair for aging in place?

A lift chair helps seniors maintain independence by reducing fall risk when standing, minimizing strain on joints, and providing a safe, comfortable place to rest. Because this model lays flat, it can also serve as a comfortable sleeping option for those who rest better in a recliner.

Q: Does the recliner need to be plugged in?

Yes, it plugs into a standard electrical outlet to power the lift, recline, heat, and massage functions. It also has built-in USB and Type-C ports so you can charge your phone or tablet without leaving the chair.

Why we know this works!

We love this chair because it lays completely flat. Most recliners stop around 160 degrees, but the backrest on this one reclines all the way to 180 degrees while the footrest rises to meet it, so it can double as a bed for naps or even overnight sleeping. That matters for anyone who rests better with their legs up, manages swelling, or spends long stretches in their chair. The dual motors move the backrest and footrest independently, so you can dial in the exact position that feels right. Built-in heat and 8-point massage help with sore muscles and relaxation, the widened armrests give solid support when standing up, and two large side pockets keep the remote and your phone within reach. Plus the leather is easy to wipe clean. This is our top choice for someone over 6'0" in height. Just note the weight capacity is 350 pounds. Some therapists don't like to recommend lift chairs because it often happens that people start using the lift feature and don't use their muscles to get out of the chair. And eventually they can no longer get up from regular chairs. We like to think about it a little differently. It's great to have the option if you need it, but that doesn't mean you have to use it. So get a lift chair only if getting out of the chair is already really hard, or there's been a time where someone's gotten stuck. And lift it only as much as needed to help get out of the seat.
