Do not wait for redness to get worse: cleanse gently, dry, and apply a zinc oxide cream at every change so there is always a protective layer between skin and wetness. The zinc oxide in this cream both shields sensitive skin and relieves the chapped, irritated areas that incontinence leaves behind. It is especially important for people who wear pads or briefs full time and for anyone with limited mobility who sits or lies in one position for long stretches.
