Why we know this works!

The padded tub transfer bench with commode opening has a 2-in-1 design that combines a tub transfer bench and commode into one. The transfer bench allows the user to stay seated when transferring in and out of the bathtub which is great for wheelchair users who have good upper body strength to transfer themselves or help a caregiver while transferring. Two of the legs should be placed inside the tub while the other two legs are placed on the bathroom floor, allowing the bench to cross over the bathtub wall. This transfer bench also has a commode opening so that it can be used as a bedside commode or the pail can be removed and then have easier access to wash while staying seated in the shower. With the pail removed it can also be placed over a toilet. Placing the commode over the toilet will provide comfort, balance, and support for standing up. The padded tub transfer bench with commode opening is perfect as a safety precaution to prevent falls during bath or toileting.
