Dr. Ryan Salmon

OTD, OTR/L, ECHM

Graduated from Pacific University

Location: Virtual

Leveraging nearly two decades of expertise as a carpenter alongside a decade of dedicated practice in occupational therapy, I specialize in supporting individuals and their caregivers by enhancing safety, accessibility, and functionality within the home environment. My passion is to empower people to age/live in place comfortably and securely, using my dual background to ensure their living spaces are both practical and empowering.

Whether it’s simple, low-cost adjustments like home organization, improved lighting, installing grab bars, or more complex remodels to accommodate wheelchairs or other accessibility needs, my goal is to create a home environment that is inclusive and welcoming to all who live and visit. My services include virtual home modification assessments, where I evaluate your living space and provide tailored strategies, design ideas and product recommendations. I also act as a liaison between you and contractors, ensuring that the changes made to your home meet both your needs and high-quality standards. For those interested in a hands-on approach, I offer DIY coaching to help you create a home environment that is inclusive for everyone who lives and visits.

I believe that disability is not a problem of the individual; it’s a mismatch between a person’s needs and the environment that surrounds them. My goal is to support you and your family members in living in the environment of your choice, fostering independence and well-being in a familiar and accessible setting. Together, we can create a home that reflects your lifestyle and accommodates your needs, ensuring a comfortable and fulfilling experience for all.
