Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How does the Easy-On Mobility Bra | Springrose® work?
A: The Easy-On Mobility Bra works with a simple front-closure Velcro system that eliminates the need to reach behind your back or manipulate difficult hooks and clasps. You simply position the bra in front of you, fasten the Velcro closure at the front, and adjust for comfort. The flexible materials and thoughtful design provide support while making it easy to put on and take off independently, even with limited hand mobility or one-handed use.

Q: Who should use an adaptive front-closure bra?
A: Adaptive front-closure bras are ideal for individuals with limited hand mobility, arthritis, stroke recovery (CVA), spinal cord injury, shoulder injuries or frozen shoulder, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, one-handed dressing needs, post-surgery recovery (mastectomy, shoulder, or arm surgery), and seniors who have difficulty reaching behind their back. Anyone who finds traditional back-closure bras challenging can benefit from this adaptive design.

Q: Can you put on a front-closure bra with one hand?
A: Yes! The Easy-On Mobility Bra is specifically designed for one-handed use. The front Velcro closure allows you to fasten the bra using just one hand, making it perfect for individuals with hemiplegia from stroke, arm injuries, or conditions affecting one side of the body. The simple closure system eliminates the need for fine motor coordination required with traditional hooks and eyes.

Q: How does an adaptive bra help after a stroke?
A: After a stroke (CVA), many individuals experience one-sided weakness or paralysis that makes traditional bra fastening nearly impossible. The Easy-On Mobility Bra addresses this challenge with its front Velcro closure that can be operated with one hand, eliminates the need to reach behind the back, requires minimal fine motor skills, and promotes independence in daily dressing routines. This helps maintain dignity and reduces reliance on caregivers for intimate personal care tasks.

Q: Is the Easy-On Mobility Bra comfortable for all-day wear?
A: Absolutely! The Easy-On Mobility Bra is designed with flexible, soft materials that provide comfortable support throughout the day. The adaptive design doesn't compromise on comfort—it offers proper support while being gentle on sensitive skin, has no uncomfortable hooks or hardware digging into your back, and the breathable fabric keeps you comfortable during extended wear.

Q: What makes a bra adaptive clothing?
A: Adaptive clothing like the Easy-On Mobility Bra is specifically designed to accommodate physical limitations and make dressing easier for individuals with disabilities or mobility challenges. Features that make this bra adaptive include the front-closure system instead of back hooks, Velcro fasteners that require less dexterity than traditional clasps, flexible materials that are easier to manipulate, and thoughtful design that promotes independence. Adaptive clothing removes barriers to self-care and daily living activities.

Q: Can people with arthritis fasten this bra independently?
A: Yes! The Easy-On Mobility Bra is excellent for individuals with arthritis. The large Velcro closure is much easier to grasp and fasten than tiny hooks and eyes, the front-closure eliminates painful shoulder and arm reaching, and no fine motor precision is required. The simple fastening system reduces hand strain and joint stress, allowing independent dressing even with arthritic hands.

Q: How do you wash an adaptive bra with Velcro?
A: To wash the Easy-On Mobility Bra, first close the Velcro properly to prevent it from catching on other garments. Hand wash with soft soap or machine wash in a gentle cycle using cold water, ideally in a mesh wash bag for protection. Hang dry—do not bleach, wring, or iron. Properly closing the Velcro before washing extends the life of the fastener and keeps it functioning smoothly.
