Why we know this works!
Why we know this works!
We love this bed rail because as occupational therapy practitioners (OTPs) we watch people fight the same battle every morning: getting from lying down to safely on their feet. Are bed rails safe for seniors? Yes, when the user is alert and just needs firm support to pull on, and this one is built for that job with an under-mattress base and a safety strap that anchors to the bed frame so it will not shift when you put weight on it. It works with most bed types, including adjustable beds, and gives you a solid handle for rolling over, sitting up, and standing without grabbing a nightstand or a caregiver's arm.
This rail is especially important for people recovering from hip or knee replacement, those with Parkinson's stiffness or tremors, and anyone whose legs are weaker than their grip. If your loved one has dementia or tries to climb out of bed, skip the rail and use a Pressure Mat Alarm with a lower bed height instead, because any rail can become an entrapment risk for a confused user.

"A bed side rail is one of the least expensive items that can have a huge impact on a person's independence. A simple bed side rail can make the difference between someone being able to lie down in bed and get up at night as needed, without disturbing others. The best part is the reduction in fear of falling and the confidence boost!"
