We love NexStride because as occupational therapy practitioners (OTPs) we watch feet freeze to the floor at doorways and turns in Parkinson's, and no amount of trying harder gets them unstuck. Do laser and sound cues actually help freezing of gait? Yes: the laser projects a line on the floor as a visual target to step toward, and the metronome sets a steady beat to walk to, and together these cues make walking more automatic so freezing episodes happen less often. It attaches to the cane, walker, or walking stick you already own, so there is no need to buy a whole new device. This is especially important for people with Parkinson's who freeze, shuffle, or hesitate at thresholds and turns. Check that your device's tubing is between 0.79 and 2.5 inches in diameter first, and remember NexStride adds cues, not physical support: if balance is poor, pair it with a stable device like a front wheeled walker.
