Tub Rail Handle
Tub Rail Handle
This rail is best for the person who can maintain standing in the shower but does not have a good place for a grab bar installation either because of how far away they must lean to get to the grab bar or have a shower surface that doesn't allow for safe grab bar installation.
It provides a secure place to hold as one steps over the tub. If someone is not able to stand in the shower safely consider a tub transfer bench instead!
Why we know this works!
Why we know this works!
Sometimes there's just not a good place to hold on to in order to step into the tub. This can meet that need! It's best to be placed on a straight flat part of the tub where there are no curves in the tub wall in order to have the best, most secure fit.
It is not ideal to use if you also are using a shower chair or tub transfer bench because in order to place the rail in a secure spot in will end up in the way of safe use of the chair.

How to Install:
Clean bathtub surface and dry thoroughly. Soap residue will not enable a secure installation.
Loosen the clamp and with the clamp facing the outside of the bathtub, slide the rail over the edge of the tub in the desired location.
Tighten until the rail feels secure, testing with a forward, backward and side to side motion before use.
Check safety rail periodically, retightening may be occasionally necessary!
